Used parts are sold per the confirmed quote and the supplying yard's terms. This page explains how warranty, returns, and refunds generally work for parts sourced through AutoMotor.AI. Your specialist confirms the exact terms for your part before you buy.

1. Warranty options

Most used engines and transmissions come with a warranty option, which is stated on your quote. Typical coverage includes:

  • A standard parts warranty period (commonly 30–180 days) covering the part against defects when properly installed.
  • Optional extended coverage on eligible parts, where available.
  • Installation by a qualified mechanic is usually required to keep the warranty valid.

Exact warranty length, coverage, and conditions are confirmed in writing on your quote before purchase.

2. What's covered

Warranties generally cover internal mechanical failure of the part itself under normal use. They typically do not cover labor, consumables, shipping, damage from improper installation, misuse, overheating, lack of maintenance, or pre-existing vehicle issues — unless your quote states otherwise.

3. Run-videos & verification

On request, many yards can provide a run-video or compression/test details before shipping so you can verify the part. Ask your specialist.

4. Returns

  • Report any issue or wrong/damaged part within the window stated on your quote (commonly within a few days of delivery).
  • Parts must generally be returned in the condition received, with original tags/markings intact.
  • A return authorization from the supplier is usually required before sending anything back.
  • Return shipping responsibility (you or the supplier) depends on the reason for return and is stated on your quote.

5. Refunds & replacements

For a valid warranty claim or an error on the supplier's part, you may be offered a replacement, repair, or refund per the quote terms. Refunds are issued to the original payment method after the returned part is received and inspected.

6. Core charges

Some parts carry a refundable core charge. Return the old core within the stated window to receive your core refund.

7. How to start a claim

Contact your specialist or email support@automotor.ai with your order details and a description (photos/video help). We'll coordinate with the supplying yard to resolve it.
